On Thursday, December 26, 2024, the NGO Hope for Villages visited the orphanage for blind orphaned children located in Tori, specifically in Aikiniko. The purpose of this initiative was to provide food and essential supplies to improve the living conditions of the children in this center.
The team departed from Cotonou at 11:30 a.m. and arrived at the orphanage at 12:30 p.m. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the priest and the children.
The priest gave a brief presentation of the center and its mission. Some of the children then shared words of welcome, followed by a short demonstration of the learning techniques used at the school to support visually impaired students.
Several activities and performances were organized, creating joyful moments with the children. Many photos and videos were taken to capture these memorable moments. The priest also took us on a tour of the kitchen and dining hall, which are unfortunately in a deteriorated condition.

Finally, Hope for Villages distributed food supplies and basic necessities to support the daily needs of the children. The donation included: 2 bags of corn, 2 containers of cooking oil (25L each), 1 bag of gari, 4 cartons of Omo detergent, 10 cartons of spaghetti, 2 bags of rice (50 kg each), 4 cartons of canned tomatoes
The priest and the children were very happy to receive this donation and expressed sincere gratitude to all donors. The priest also expressed his desire to continue this collaboration for future initiatives.
